A little glimpse into our lives....

Life with boys is a fun one, boys like to ruff house but have a sweet momma boy side as well.

They will serenade you with music they practiced for a hour on.

You will laugh when your son comes to you and says " Mom my lips got stuck in my water bottle" and thinks it is hilarious.
(true story he gave himself a hickie with his water bottle)

They like to be good guys and bad ones occasionally. Its a good life.
I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have a girl then I see my 3 little men and I am truly happy.

Go for the Plaid!

Continuing on the pajama marathon here are more Summer pajamas for B.

For his Shirt I wanted to play around with a Raglan sleeve Tee, It took some figuring and its still not quite finished. For a pajama shirt it looks good but I want to use it for some regular shirts so I still have some work on the pattern. I didn't use any tutorials but I did use my shirt pattern from Ottobre to wing it. Hopefully after I'm done testing it I will have even better results to share.

Again I used the Free pajama pants pattern from Fabric.com I like it its easy and has a lot of sizes. It goes up to size 8, however they are really roomy and could easily be for a size 10-12 if you just lengthen them. For B I use the 6 and lengthen.

Clothes for the boy

This is what has kept me totally busy for the last 2 weeks! Yes it took me that long to make these, don't judge (well and a muslin I'll show you later) I am working on a spring look for B I have a few more shirts in mind and shorts too.

First up is a pair of green corduroy shorts and a teal Shirt that is slub knit. I am kind of in love with this outfit!

I have been using the same pattern for B's shirts the last bit its a basic Tee from Ottobre. This time around I rounded the bottom and lengthened it a bit, I wanted a more slouchy look and I think it turned out great, I also added a pocket.

The shorts are what took me forever to do. It was my first pair with a fly and my first ever zipper, When I do something I do it all the way! The top isn't lined up quite right but I unpicked that fly more than I wanted too so I left it. You can't tell when its on anyways.

I made a muslin and they turned good the fly wasn't even bad but when I went to make these the fly gave me nothing but problems! I think I have it figured out now though, whew! The pattern is also from Ottobre; they have a lot of patterns to choose from but are sparse on directions if you are used to tutorials or esty shop patterns.

I even did a special lining for the pockets B was super excited when he discovered that!

Stripes....

B loves anything I make and these were no exception.

I wasn't sure at first if I liked the stripes but now that they are on and with a solid t-shirt it looks much better.

The top is a up-cycled T-shirt of mine and fits pretty well I had to do some jerry rigging to get it right but it look good on.

The bottoms are the same pattern as the lizard Pajamas but in the size 6 since this is cotton and not knit.

He is such a poser! One of the reasons I started this blog is because everyone sews for girls but they seem to forget that boys love to have stuff handmade too; and there aren't a lot of easy choices for boys you have to search and use your imagination to sew for a boy.
Don't worry there are more pajamas to come!

Lizards!!!

B is almost 8 and is growing so fast I have a hard time keeping up with him. In honor of another growth spurt I am on a Pajama making marathon!
 First up Lizards

It is safe to say he loves them ;o)

The top is a pattern from Ottobre, it is a really basic T-shirt and one you can make yourself using this tutorial or there are some free patterns in my Free patterns tab at the top. B is in a bigger size than most free patterns, actually its hard to find any cute patterns bigger than a size 8 on esty or blogs.

For the bottoms I used this free pattern on Fabric.com its the same pattern I used for their Christmas pajamas. I did a size 4 since B is skinny and this is a knit fabric and stretches a lot.
